A 13-year-old woman died Wednesday after being hit by gunfire throughout a battle in a mall in Lynnwood, Washington, police mentioned.
Jayda Woods-Johnson was “tragically murdered” on the Alderwood Mall, the Lynnwood Police Division mentioned.
“The suspect has been recognized as a 16-year previous male from Edmonds,” the division mentioned in a press release. “He was introduced in by his mom and is in custody. He can be booked into jail for Homicide.”
Two teams had been in an “altercation” close to the mall’s meals court docket, police mentioned. Woods-Johnson had not been concerned with both group and appeared to have been struck by a stray bullet, police mentioned.
