An individual is useless after exchanging gunfire with police at Yellowstone Nationwide Park on July 4.

The person had a firearm and “was making threats” within the Canyon Village space, situated within the heart of the park. When rangers confronted the individual, they opened hearth, the park said.

A park ranger was injured within the taking pictures and is in steady situation at a close-by hospital.

The FBI is investigating the incident with help from Nationwide Park Service particular brokers. A piece of the park close to the Canyon Lodge is closed off as legislation enforcement continues the investigation.

“There aren’t any energetic threats to the general public,” NPS mentioned.

The individual’s id has not been launched.
